Mango

Mango is one of our favorite fruits. As mangoes are delicious to eat, they have numerous benefits. Mangoes contain many beneficial and necessary elements for our body including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Some benefits of mango. Ø  Helps prevent cancer: Several studies have shown that the antioxidants in mangoes help prevent various types of cancer, including colon cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and leukemia. Lowers Cholesterol Levels: Mangoes are rich in fiber, pectin and vitamin C. These ingredients help us stay healthy by reducing the level of bad cholesterol in the body.  Keeps skin beautiful: Eating mangoes or applying them on the skin, both are beneficial for the skin. Mango protects our skin from acne by unclogging our skin pores. Boosts Immunity: Mangoes are rich in vitamin C, A and about 25 types of carotenoids which boost our immunity and make us healthy.

Mango fruit is a problem

Due to disease or insect attack or prolonged drought or dry and hot air due to physiological reasons or lack of fertilizer in the soil, the fruit may be damaged. Integrated Suppression Management: Regular irrigation during dry season.    Magnol 0.5 ml/l immediately after small bowel obstruction. Mix with water and spray.Apply balanced fertilizer according to the age of the plant twice a year before and after monsoon.Apply dolochun at the rate of 50 grams per tree per year (the amount should be increased according to the age of the tree).Apply adequate organic fertilizers.

 Mango fruit bursting

If there is a long drought or dry and hot air, the fruit may burst due to physiological reasons or calcium deficiency in the soil. Integrated Suppression Management:     Regular irrigation during dry season.    Magnol 0.5 ml/l immediately after small bowel obstruction. Mix with water and spray.    Apply balanced fertilizer according to the age of the plant twice a year before and after monsoon.    Application of Dolochun at the rate of 50 grams per tree per year (the amount should be increased according to the age of the tree).Apply adequate organic fertilizers.Apply a balanced fertilizer to the plant.       Name of the disease: Gum disease of mango or gamosis diseaseSymptoms:     At first, light brown or dark brown gum or juice can be seen coming out from some parts of mango stem or thick branch.    In case of heavy infestation, the whole branch or even the whole plant dies. Integrated Suppression Management:     Apply balanced amount of organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers to the affected plants and provide regular irrigation.As soon as gum disease is seen, remove the bark/bark along with some healthy parts and apply Bordeaux mixture or copper oxychlorite fungicide like Cupravit 7 gm/l on the cut parts. Mix with water and spray.When the new leaves come out, mix Bavistin 1 gram/liter with water and spray 3 times after 7-10 days.

  Mango rot disease

It is a deadly disease of mango,  After the mangoes are harvested from the tree, brown spots appear at the base of the fruit and gradually become round and spread around the fruit.    Infected mangoes spoil within 2/3 days. Integrated Suppression Management:     Mango laying on a sunny day.    Ensuring that mangoes are not damaged during laying.    After laying the mango, remove it from the tree quickly.The attack of this disease is reduced if the mangoes are kept in hot water of 55 degrees Celsius or 1 gram per liter of water mixed with Bavistin for five minutes immediately after planting.Do not keep the garden untidy.Do not leave mangoes under the tree for a long time.When the fruit collection is over, clean the dead branches, fruit pods, diseased or insect-infested branches and overgrown branches.After cleaning, spray the entire plant thoroughly with a fungicide and an insecticide.Visit the garden regularly.

 Mango shooty mold disease

Ants are often seen when there is mango shoot mold disease.    If the attack of mango hopper or millibug is high, the attack of shooty mold fungus occurs, black dirt accumulates on the leaves and at some point the tips of the branches of the tree die and the leaves fall off. It is a physical disease.    This disease occurs when the concentration of any gas, especially carbon monoxide, increases in the air.    The agar part of the mango turns black, goes away and the edible part inside softens and spoils. Integrated Suppression Management:     Rorax or caustic soda 6 gms/l. Spraying 2 times after 15 days by mixing with water.Do not plant mango orchards near brick kilns.After harvesting the fruit, remove dead branches, fruit pods, diseased or insect-infested branches and overgrown branches.After cleaning, spray the entire plant thoroughly with a fungicide and an insecticideArrange to use high chimneys in brick kilns.Set up mango orchards at least 5 km away from brick kilns.

 Scab disease of mango

When mango scab disease, young mango pods are affected. Integrated Suppression Management:     Keeping trees and gardens clean by timely pruning    Removing fallen leaves, buds or mango pods from under the tree.    Carbendazim or Mancozeb 2 g/l. Spray 3-4 times every 15 days by mixing with water.Do not keep the garden untidy.After harvesting the fruit, remove dead branches, fruit pods, diseased or insect-infested branches and overgrown branches.After cleaning, spray the entire plant thoroughly with a fungicide and an insecticide.

Mango leaf spot disease

Black angular spots are seen on mango leaves.    Spots are also seen on young stems and fruits. Integrated Suppression Management:     Avoid damaging trees during garden maintenance.    Planting germ-free seeds or cuttings.    Copper oxychloride 2.5 g/l. Spray 3-4 times every 15 days by mixing with water.Do not keep the garden untidy.After harvesting the fruit, clean the dead branches, fruit pods, diseased or insect-infested branches and overgrown branches.After cleaning, spray the entire plant thoroughly with a fungicide and an insecticide.Visit the garden regularly.

 Leaf Blight of Mango (Macrophomina phaseolina) is a fungal disease

The disease is seen in leaves, stems and fruits.    The affected part of the leaf first shows yellow spots. Later there are light brown spots.    The tip of the leaf dries up.    There are round wet spots on the mango. Staining occurs and mangoes rot in warehouses. Integrated Suppression Management:     Collect and burn affected parts.Use disease resistant varieties.Spray the affected plants with 1% Bordomicure or 4 g Cupravit or 2 g Daython M-45 or 2 g Ridomel Gold per liter of water.

 Powdery Mildew of Mango Powdery Mildew of Mango (Oidium mangiferae) is a fungal disease

White powder like powder is seen on young leaves and flowers.    As a result, flowers and fruits drop.    In the attack of this disease, the amount of damage can be up to 70-80%. Integrated Suppression Management:     Keep the garden clean.    Spray once before flowering and once after flowering with 80% sulfur fungicides such as Cumulus, Ronvit, Thiovit etc. 2 g and Tilt 0.5 ml per liter of water.

 Mango malformation (Fusarium moniliforme) is caused by fungi and other causes.

This disease manifests in stem and bud. It is a kind of deformity.    The stem bears numerous small buds on the leaves and bears tiny leaves. Its normal growth is disrupted.    If the buds are infected, they grow abnormally and become large and look a bit tangled or wrinkled. It does not bear any fruit. Integrated Suppression Management:Prune the affected stems and buds of the plant along with some healthy parts.    Collect seedlings from disease free trees.    Bardopest should be coated on the cut part 2/3 times in 15 days.    Spray 1 gram per liter of water.    Spraying 0.2% NAA or Planofex three months before budding reduces the incidence of this disease.    Spraying urea (1-2%) in mid-November delayed flower bud emergence. It reduces the distortion of buds. Increases fruit retention capacity.

Anthracnose of Mango (Colletotrichum gloesporioides) Fungal Disease

Leaves, buds, twigs, flowers and leaves are attacked by this disease.     Brown spots appear on leaves and stems.    If the spots are old, they look like blisters.    Later the affected area becomes black and dry.    If the mango is infected, the fruit withers and drops. Integrated Suppression Management:Burn affected parts promptly.    Keep the mango garden clean.    Use resistant varieties.    Apply balanced fertilizer twice a year.    If the disease occurs, spray every 12-15 days by mixing 1 ml of propakenazole (Tilt) or 1 g of Carbendazim (Bavistin or Noin) or 2 g of Topsin M or 2 g of Dithen M 45 per liter of water.

 Fruit Rot of Mango (Diplodia natalensis and other causes) is a fungal disease

The attack of this disease starts from the mango drop.    First brown and later black spots appear.    The bacteria attack the fruit skin deep in the peel.    If the infestation is high, the mango rots quickly.Integrated Suppression Management:     Care should be taken not to get injured while planting mangoes.    If the plant is attacked by this disease, spray by mixing 1 gram per liter of water.    If the plant is attacked by this disease, spray by mixing 1 gram per liter of water.    After harvesting, the mangoes are immersed in water at a temperature of 52 degrees Celsius for 5 minutes and taken out.
